2. Sign on for each monthly round on LiveHeats in the week prior

3. Check LiveHeats on the Saturday evening to get your heat time and rashie colour

4. Check Southbridge socials early on Sunday to see our event location

5. Arrive early, gear up in your rashie and paddle out 5 minutes before your heat, when you see the orange light at the judges van

Can I use an Active Kids Voucher?

Yes*, but only vouchers valid from February 2024 onwards. To use a voucher, choose the ‘Active Kids membership option’ when joining the 2024 Season Membership on LiveHeats, DO NOT CHOOSE an Age Division.

*We are waiting for approval to accept vouchers, government red tape takes time!  We don’t expect any dramas, but in the unlikely situation that we’re not approved – we’ll return your unused voucher and you’ll need to pay the $50 direct to our club. We will notify you if this is required.

How do I register and surf in the Little Lake Classic or King of the Rock?

We have separate memberships that include these events, as well as other great benefits during the year! Join with separate memberships on LiveHeats.  To surf in one of these events AND do the full club season, you’ll need two different memberships.

How do I join as a Social member?

Choose the ‘Social membership option’ when joining the 2024 Season Membership on LiveHeats to  unlock some great benefits and share the Southbridge stoke!

AGE DIVISIONS

What’s my Age Division for the monthly rounds in LiveHeats?

For our monthly events, surfers must sign on and surf in the following Age Divisions

CONTESTS

What days are the Southbridge club rounds & social events on?

We usually hold the monthly Pointscore or Club Champ rounds on the 3rd Sunday of the month, with heats for each age division. Seniors (U16+) usually start around 7.45am and juniors 14 and under around 11am. Check out our Event Calendar for all the action!

Where are Southbridge monthly rounds held?

Mostly at Warilla Beach or the Farm in Killalea Regional Park. We’re licenced for most breaks in the Shellharbour area and scan and choose the best conditions for the day. On larger days, we’ll seek out a protected break for the juniors. Occasionally we score breaks like Shallows, Little Lake and senior Club Champ rounds can be held at Cowries, The Island, Mystics and Barrack Point if it’s pumping!

What are Pointscore and Club Champ rounds?

Every surfer gains points from each monthly round based on their placing and yearly winners are crowned in EVERY Age Division! If you surf many rounds, you can drop a bad result or two 😊

3-4 rounds each year are Club Champs that decide the A and B grade champions – we aim for March, July, August + one extra. You also earn points for the yearly Pointscore.

Can I push-in and help a young surfer during a heat?

Yes. Parents or carers can help out the groms in the water, but for insurance purposes you must join as a Social ($10) or Adult Full Season Member for the 2024 Season on LiveHeats.

If you can’t make it on the day, an older club member will be happy to help your kid.

Can I see live scores during a heat?

Although we’re here for fun and don’t take results too seriously, you can check out the live scores during a heat at compusurf.com.au – our long-time club sponsor and the original live surf scoring system!

What if I’ve signed on for a round in LiveHeats and then can’t make it?

Please CANCEL your entry on LiveHeats anytime up till the night before the event, OR on the day of the contest – let a committee member know or flick us a message on our Socials. Heat numbers are carefully calculated for maximum enjoyment, so it really helps to let us know as early as possible if you can’t make it.
